End of Year Goals
In this post, I am answering a prompt to Mrs. Kallas Blog post, to my goals at the end of the year so we can end it with a good heart and without being a sloth. The first thing that I want to learn before the end of the year is how to be a better teacher, even though we have been going to our field sites for a while I still think there are things that I could learn from my field site teachers that would help me improve my teaching in the future. The second thing that I would like to learn before the end of the year is how to be a better person in general, And before anyone says that is to vague think about it, as a teacher you have to be one of the most compassionate people to look at everyone equally and be able to set an example for your kids on how to be a good human being. The next thing is a goal where you pick something to remove from your daily behavior the is counterproductive to the work you are doing. Well, mine is to stop! procrastinating and I know that I've said this in the past but even if it is just for the next six weeks I would like to just do my work on time and finish it efficiently. No question that this my seven deadly sin, sloth but I will try to consciously work on this flaw and try to improve my behavior for my future and my kids. The next thing is a way to make my life easier but still productive at the same time. I would have to say my Idea is to work on stuff at home that I don't finish in the classroom not only would this be very productive to get work done and on time but also easier because I wouldn't have to worry about not getting done because I didn't get it done in the classroom that day. The last thing that was in this prompt is eight nice things that I could do in the next six weeks for other people. The first thing is to just not say anything mean to anybody, but this can be summed up to human decency or the golden rule "Treat others the way you want to be treated''.The second thing is to compliment other people in my life. The reason that I pick this is that the lack of self-confidence is astounding in the world, so maybe just saying one nice thing can change the whole day for someone. The third thing is holding open doors for people, not a lot of explaining to be said on this one. The fourth thing is to clean up trash up on the side of the road with my church, in my opinion doing things like this and showing respect for the environment can show a lot about your character and how you live your life selfish or selflessly. The fifth thing is saying have a good rest of your day to my classmates which might not look like much but it's like the compliments the can make or break a day, at least in my opinion. The sixth thing is to say thank you to the janitors who clean up our school, Because they put so much effort in a mostly thankless job from anyone but if not for them our schools would be a mess. The seventh thing is to be polite as in use manners to people who do things for me because it's just a respectful thing to do for other human beings. The last thing is to be a good person. Honestly, this is just a summation of the last things that I said but there's a little bit of a difference and that is just to respect everyone that you meet as people we should be able to connect at a level where at least we can be polite and show compassion to people that we meet, which that is called empathy and in my opinion that is the kindest thing that you can do as another human being
